At the 48th WorldSkills Competition, which recently concluded in Shanghai, UBlok’s brand and products drew attention and praise from all parties. This is not only because the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), known as the “Four-Leaf Clover” and venue of the Competition, extensively adopted UBlok’s AAC panels and blocks. More importantly, for the Wall & Floor Tiling contest under the Construction and Building Technology category, UBlok supplied AAC wall materials meeting international standards as required by the event, earning unanimous recognition from the organisers and competitors.
Wall & Floor Tiling is a highly prestigious construction discipline at WorldSkills. Contestants have to complete layout marking, cutting, tiling and grouting within a total of 22 hours over four days, with finished work required to have tolerances below 1 mm; scores hinge on minute differences. Under the rules for this Wall & Floor Tiling event, competitors first need to build structures with AAC blocks. Small 3D features shown on drawings, such as low partitions, small steps and wash basin bases, must be constructed from AAC blocks. After substrate preparation, tiles are laid and grouted on top. Accordingly, stringent requirements are imposed on the strength, density and especially dimensional accuracy of the AAC blocks.
UBlok stood out through rigorous selection by the event organiser to become the official AAC wall material supplier. Upon receiving the assignment, UBlok’s technical, production and logistics teams made thorough plans to ensure the competition materials were delivered to the venue with guaranteed quality and quantity.
Within the same building — the National Exhibition and Convention Center — UBlok products were deployed twice: for the main venue structure and for the competition walls inside. Stepping onto the international stage of WorldSkills serves as an authoritative validation of UBlok’s product precision and overall quality, allowing skilled competitors from across the globe to experience firsthand the strength of China’s AAC building materials.
“Only by competing with top talents can we keep improving ourselves; only through tempering in major projects and events can we build solid capabilities.” UBlok will continue to drive development through technology, management and talent, striving to become a pacesetter in the global AAC industry.
