The Construction Industry Council (CIC) and Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) are the authoritative institutions for construction and green building sectors in Hong Kong. They launched the BEAM Plus green building assessment scheme and Green Product Certification to grade the environmental performance of buildings and construction materials, which serve as core benchmarks for measuring building sustainability. As the widely adopted green building evaluation standard in Hong Kong, BEAM Plus scores directly affect a property’s market value and environmental brand image.
